Use of walkers and cell phones - when you think you have seen it all!

Last week, I caught the sight of an older adult using his walker while talking on his cellular phone. Needless to say that was a first for me! It never crossed my mind that someone might think that this would be a good idea. What are the implications of distracted walking with assistive devices? Is this a rare occurrence or something up and coming?
