Basic assessment to track changes in falls risk for people with dementia
Posted December 14, 2015
At the Alzheimer Society our Minds in Motion® program is finishing up as a pilot March 31 2016.
I have been doing a lot of work around sustainability and making changes to certain components of the program based on our learnings from pilot.
I am wondering if anyone has suggestions on a simple test we can incorporate into our existing pre and post assessments for the program to asses any changes in falls risk for people with dementia and their care partners.
This is the outline for the assessment we already have which includes “8 foot up and go”
1. Chair stands
2. Bicep curls
3. Steps
4. Sit and reach
5. Back scratch
6. Eight foot up-and-go
Would anyone have some ideas around what we could incorporate or who specifically I could connect with?
Many Thanks
