Federal, Provincial, and Territorial Governments Seeking Input to Inform a Framework for Physical Activity

Posted October 27, 2016

Research clearly shows that inactivity and sedentary behaviour remain a critical public health issue among Canadians of all ages. Together with other sectors of society, federal, provincial, and territorial (FPT) Ministers responsible for sport, physical activity, and recreation (SPAR) are working to address this disturbing trend by developing a physical activity framework.

The framework will complement other existing government and community-led policies and programs and will also consider new and emerging policy approaches. It will be completed for endorsement by FPT SPAR Ministers in July 2017.

The first stage in the consultation process is a survey for completion by parents, professionals, businesses, NGOs, government, and all relevant sectors of society. Please complete the online survey by November 11, 2016, and share with others who would like to have a voice in the consultation process. https://na1se.voxco.com/SE/?st=dSdGc%2fOm9ofUGSh8Qu4fXP4f1aKOkPFJOA3SpgNncfE%3d

Let's all make sure that the perspective of physical activity with older adults is included by responding to the survey individually, in groups or with your organization!
