Do you work with clients who have osteoporosis? Then Bone Fit™ workshops may be for you.

Posted November 28, 2017

In alignment with the Ontario Osteoporosis Strategy, Osteoporosis Canada, the only national organization serving people who have, or are at risk for osteoporosis, developed the Bone Fit™ workshop in March 2010 in conjunction with an advisory committee of expert clinicians and academics in the area of osteoporosis and exercise.

What is Bone Fit™?

Bone Fit™ is an evidence-informed exercise training workshop, designed for healthcare professionals and exercise practitioners to provide training on the most appropriate, safe and effective methods to prescribe and progress exercise for people with osteoporosis.

  • Bone Fit™ Basics is aimed at exercise and fitness professional working in the community with uncomplicated osteoporosis clients.

  • Bone Fit™ Clinical is aimed at rehabilitation professionals working in a clinical environment with simple or complex osteoporosis clients.

The ultimate goal of the Bone Fit™ Basic & Clinical workshops is to provide safe, effective, evidence-based exercises to create a continuum of care from the clinic to the community or home.

The Bone Fit™ Basic workshop was developed recently based on an expressed need and interest from a community-based exercise specialist, and is framed upon the Bone Fit™ Clinical workshop.
