Posted January 26, 2018

January is Alzheimer’s Awareness month!  The McMaster Optimal Ageing Portal has accumulated nine ‘Featured Resources’ about managing conditions associated with Alzheimer’s disease in their Post called Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. Read through all nine of these blog posts, evidence summaries and web resources to learn more about dementia diagnosis, caregiver supports, brain games, exercise strategies and antipsychotic drugs. The McMaster Optimal Ageing Portal can be easily accessed on the Loop homepage under “Featured Resource”.

The Alzheimer’s Society of Canada also has great information for caregivers and healthcare professionals.  Learn more about what it is like to live with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia in their post, “Alzheimer’s Awareness Month: #ilivewithdementia”. Walk in the shoes of a person inflicted with dementia and imagine the courage and strength they muster every day.
