Universal Falls Approach
Posted January 13, 2022
Our organization went with an universal falls approach a few years ago and uses falls assessment tools only in LTC. We regularly have data from chart audits, and rarely is there any falls-related specific interventions recorded in the chart after a fall. Would reverting back to having a falls assessment tool added to the chart after a fall in acute care result in more interventions developed for the client, or is it not a valuable enough process to make it worthwhile adding back into the patients' chart?
