What is everyone doing for Fall Prevention Month 2023?

Posted October 24, 2023

Fall Prevention Month (FPM) is just over a week away and I wanted to create a space where folks could share what they have planned, ask others about their initiatives and identify opportunities for some collective action  If you have any plans (big or small!) for FPM, share them in the comments.

I can share that Parachute and the FPM social media accounts will be posting about fall prevention all month long using the 2023 campaign hashtags #FallPreventionMonthCA (French: #MoisPréventionChutesCA) and #MoveImproveRemove (French: #DemeurerAméliorerÉliminer). Posts will share fall prevention tips, fall-related statistics and direct people to more information about fall prevention and healthy aging.

If you aren’t sure where to start with planning, https://www.fallpreventionmonth.ca / https://www.novembresanschute.ca has tools to help health and service providers, business, government and academia to raise awareness and engage their communities in preventing falls and fall-related injuries.

The best place to find out when new materials have been added to the Fall Prevention Month (FPM) website is by signing up for the FPM newsletter: https://www.fallpreventionmonth.ca/sign-up Newsletters are only sent in the months leading up to FPM, not all year round. The Newsletter Archive is a great place to find out what’s new for this year and where to find the most popular resources.
