Initiative to reinstate & expand the seniors' home safety tax credit to prevent injuries to Ontario's seniors
Posted September 23, 2024
I’m reaching out with information about an effort to Reinstate and Expand the Seniors' Home Safety Tax Credit to Prevent Injuries to Ontario’s Seniors. I recently spoke with leaders at the ON Home Medical Equipment Providers Association (OMEPA), who commissioned an independent research report on the role of assistive devices in helping Ontario seniors age at home. As a result, they have embarked on an initiative to address the gaps in tax credits to allow for more seniors in Ontario to access effective and needed supports to prevent injuries. Parachute agree with the findings of this report and have sent letters to the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Health, and the Minister for Seniors & Accessibility as well as the Liberal and NDP critics for each ministry.
If you're able to to send a letter to these ministers and your MPP supporting this initiative, please contact me and I'll send you a template letter you can use as a basis and a list of the MPP’s in Ontario.
