Head trauma after a fall
Posted Le 2 septembre 2015
We have all kinds of assessments and interventions - return to learn and return to play, for our youth, but what about in older adults?
Apparently our Regional Falls Program is seeing a lot of head traumas with the adults that are falling and there doesn't seem to be anything different being said or done by Health Care Providers to the patient or family. If the patient is on blood thinners they may get a Cat Scan......what about baseline cognitive status or a protocol for geriatric patients? Dementia or decreased cognitive status due to head trauma?
Any thoughts, resources, services ....please share
