Post Covid Revival of the Southwest Ontario Fall Prevention Network - are you in for it?
Posted Le 20 octobre 2023
Prior to Covid, the Southwest Ontario Fall Prevention Network were great movers and shakers to work together to make productive fall prevention initiatives happen. We lost members during the pandemic and shut down, but we want to see what we can do now. The group included what was LHIN 2 and Windsor Essex. There was funding back then for this specific geographic group, so it was limited, but there is no reason that Central Ontario and/or others couldn't also join us now, as no actual funding is involved. Middlesex London was a fantastic partner, as were some others, but with restructuring, some places don't have the one designated person like we did in the past. However, we do have some colleagues keen to restart, and, if you work in this general geographic area and want to be part of a group, we would welcome you. "We" is Judy Portious from the Osteoporosis Canada, Ontario Osteoporosis Strategy, plus myself and others who valued what we able to accomplish and hope to accomplish moving forward. Of course, times change, and we may not be able to meet in person, nor to create great shared handouts like "Staying Independent" and "Safe Winter Walking". However, we can look at what we can plan together, especially around Fall Prevention Month, and our first Zoom meeting will be November 6 at 1:30 EST. If you have not heard from us, but want to participate, please message me or Judy here and we will make some group work happen. Thank you in advance for any interest.
