Useful fall prevention tools and resources in the Fall Prevention Month 2023 Annual Report
Posted Le 15 mars 2024
The 2023 Fall Prevention Month (FPM) campaign was a great success and the FPM annual report is now available! The FPM annual report summarizes data collected to evaluate each component of the campaign. It also highlights the new and updated resources available to support promotion and awareness of the campaign. Here are some of the highlights:
What’s new?
· FPM website changes: we streamlined the website to focus on Fall Prevention Month in Canada and moved resources created by external organizations, that can be used all year-round, to Parachute’s website.
· Move, Improve, Remove Posters: These posters promote healthy aging and fall prevention. They are aimed at older adults and designed to be posted in a variety of settings (e.g., hospitals, clinic waiting rooms, pharmacies, community buildings, long-term care and retirement facilities etc.).
· Proclamation templates: We created proclamation templates to help get local, provincial and territorial governments to officially recognize FPM and lend their support to FPM via social and traditional media.
· Customizable ‘Staying Independent Checklist’: We created a customizable Staying Independent Checklist that users can add their organization’s logo and website details to.
· Other new and updated resources: An updated Fact Bank and new articles for use on safe winter walking and alcohol and substance use among seniors.
See page 4 of the FPM annual report to see everything new or updated on the website this year.
