The Oral Health Resources and Advocates 2022 Group was created to store the information related to promoting that oral health is a right for older adults, and not just a privilege intended only for the wealthy and those with great work benefit plans. Our goal is to work together to promote awareness and action and to keep up to date information and resources that will be helpful to those wishing to be advocates. This includes archives of our meetings, with the first one being August 31, 2022. We initiated with the book, "Unleashing the ideavirus" by Seth Godin. This book speaks to speading an idea that may not be as well known as other ideas related to a larger topic. In our case, we have health as the overarching topic, but we are promoting poor oral health as a risk factor for injuries from falls. Some connections need to be made. Poor oral health can affect nutrition, which can affect overall health, which can relate to weakness, frailty and other poor health outcomes that make seniors more prone to falls.
