EMS and "lift assist"

Hi everyone,

I was recently speaking to someone who works as a paramedic about this rising cost of calls for non-urgent "lift-assist". This region was considering alternatives to the high cost of sending ambulance with paramedics. Has anyone heard of a strategy to support these individuals (IE they call 911 for lift assist and are redirected somehow?)
