Medicated and Motivated - NOT!!!! Questioning the Abusive Practice of Chemical Restraint

Written for World Elder Abuse Month (June 2018), is my article scrutinizing and challenging the destructive process of chemically restraining our older and vulnerable population, inclusive of people living with dementia.

Medicating people for being different, for communicating unmet need or for our convenience is considered elder abuse and neglect.

Please digest the damaging influences and high risk that chemical restraint poses to any persons ability to function and thrive.

We must foster awareness regarding this heinous crime against humanity, and cease condoning such horrendous cruelty.
