Fall issues/prevention for those with visual adaptabilities

I am interested in any research on fall issues/prevention for individuals (not necessarily seniors, but I have a special interest here) with visual adaptabilities (I use the term "adaptabilities" rather than "disabilities" because of my personal beliefs, but I am not offended if your choice of terminology is "disability"). I have found several research articles but there does not seem to be a strong research focus in this area. Has any of my colleagues worked in this area? It appears that the impact that visual issues have on balance depends on when the loss of vision occurred and whether it was "sudden" or due to the aging process or due to a medical condition, etc. Thanks, KC
